Default How to attach a tool box?

How do ya'll attach tool boxes to your trucks? I have mine on with the littel "J" hooks that came with the box, but I plan on putting my 4-Wheeler in the bed during the winter and think that I will need a little more solid mount, since the 4-Wheeler will be up against it. I would rather not drill thru the bed? I saw some type of mounting blocks advertised one time, but I dont know what they were called? They looked like a type of rubber wedge that did not require drilling? Thanks for the help!

i use those j hooks with my box also.... they are very secure and i trust them. the box itself will not go far even if you just sit it in there plus with a quad in front of it it really has no room to move. i have my quad im my box all the time. if you still feel like you need more of a secure mount you can always drill thru the box into the truck with (4) 1/4" self tapping screws. thy will produce a smaller hole and with 4 of them they will hold pretty good. thats what i did with one of our work trucks. a little f.y.i on th at quad in the box. MAKE SURE ITS IN GEAR OR STRAPPED GOOD. the whole front of my box is bent in because of a fast stop that made the quad bumper smash the front box in. GOODLUCK!

I've never attached mine. Got it second hand and there's enough crap in there to let gravity do the job. Never budges either.

Just put some rubber between the toolbox and bed, then use your j hooks. Thats what i have. My quad doesnt move it at all. The rubber creates alot of friction aslong as you have some actual tools in the tool box!

I think something like this is what you're talking about regarding the mounting blocks:
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...amp;lpage=none

I use these and they work great. Two piece design that clamps to the bed rail and allows for two mounting bolts to drop through the toolbox on each side. If you get everything good and tight it won't move a bit.

I trimmed up som scrap rubber that is probably 1/4" thick and 1"x4", put four pieces under each corner between the rail and the tool box. And then clamped it down with four of those J hooks (one in each corner) and that thing is definetly not going to move. I left about a 1" gap between the tool box and the front rail of the truck bed, so that it wouldn't rub there (I'm way to particular abut my truck), I have actually carried my four wheeler and had it roll forward and dent the tool box without making the gap any smaller.
