wanted to thank steve for the great write-up, i just got my Lorenz 2.25 kit and this and the spring write-ups were VERY helpful to a slightly mechanically challenged person.

I'm liking it so far, much smoother in the rough stuff, especially in the rear! Just curious though, my truck had another set of leafs on top of the main set, that yours did not, is that something new or because it's a 1 ton?

it is because it is a 1 ton. allot of guys yank them if the trucks not hauling heavy loads. A buddy of mine passed his on to me and I plan to add them at some point this year. How it will affect the ride, IDK...

i predict harshness in your future if you do add them. i carry 700 or so lbs in the box daily, and i don't see any negative effects without them so far.

I'd think they'd only come into play if the bed were loaded down pretty good. they were free, and can come off as easily as they went on.

Just got my kit and got as far as getting the minipacks on but as you said the holes don't line up. I have been trying for a couple days and cant seem to get my holes lined up. How did you do it?

sounds like the new leaf packs are not lined up 100%, loosen them up a bit and then tighten them back down and see if they will drop into the blocks. I dont recall it being too difficult but its been a few years...
