Default Gauge Question

I am putting onthe autometer EGT on my 03 2500. Is it okay to put the probe intothe turbo elbow before it hit the turbine. I know that the reading will be a little off. But I have the forumla toadjust for the temp degree difference. Anything I should look out for during the install?

You can install it there. My Autometer has an L-shaped temp probe. Just make sure that probe doesn't come in contact with the turbine, or any part of the wastegate assembly.

Which model did you get? I use the Cobalt series.

Good luck with your ride.

theres no real formula to computate. if you put the probe before the turbo you'll see what the head and valves are seeing. after the turbo you will be seeing what the turbo is having to deal with.

personaly before the turbo will help you keep things from getting too hot and dropping a valve seat.
