Default Screeeeeech

I've had my 04 CTD since March and the only problem was a water pump leak that the dealer promptly replaced. Even before then I've noticed that when the truck is turned off it has ascreech to it when the engine stops. Is this NORMAL? If so, why? Sounds like a belt screeching, but just a short screech when everything stops turning. Thanks Carl00723@aol.com

Normal. You have quite a few belt driven accesseries and with the high compression of the cummins, the engine stops faster than the accesseries can.

Sounds like you might need a complete rebuild, pistons are likely bad.

I went out and started the vehicles, turns out the Fj cruiser and the mini van have no sqeel, the truck seems to havea minor one. Sharx, will you help me rebuild my motor. I can pay you in beer and gum drops?

got some vise grips and a screwdriver. I am starting in 5 minutes. Maybe I will jsut tune it up. what is the gap for my spark plugs? should I change my spark plug wires and muffler bearings at the same time?
