Default Anyone have a catalytic converter laying around?

After talking to the guy at the dealership I think I want to put the cat back on and just delete the muffler. I looked around but magnaflow's high flow cat is $500! IfI cant get one I suppose I will then put the aero on but would rather stay as legal as possible.

I have one laying around as well, however I also believe that I may need it some day.

I'm with steve and mayfair - legal... who cares. straight pipe or aero.

I will likely end up doing the aero. Steve said not resonated, anyone have the resonated? I think I need to find another dealer, do I just call around and say hey "I have a egt probe in the manifold and not catalytic converter, is that ok or will you give me trouble?"

depends on the dealership. . .when I had my drip edge seal replaces long ago the service writer liked the placement of my boost EGT gage in the SRT-10 grab handle. didnt say anything else even though drilling a hole in the exhaust manifold voided the warranty on it, and if something happened to the EGT probe, well there goes Mr. Turbo.

I have the resonated version mounted where the stock muffler was and I'm very happy with it. I figured that since the truck came with a resonaotor to begin with I'd better put one back in so I did. Not too loud, not too quiet, zero drone. I couldn't be happier.

i would like to say i have the aero xl and i couldent be more happier with it. as for the cat. conv. i do not have one, i got my tooken off when i had my straight thru's put on. what i found out about taking your truck or car to someone to put straight or even new exhaust pipes on is that they make a killing on selling used cat. converters. i heard a story from someone that use to work in a muffler shop and he was telling me that they could get a few hundred a cat on the black market selling them on e-bay and what not. when i went there i told them to cut it all out and replace with new. what i should of said was i want to keep the old, just throw it in back of my truck. you learn as you go i guess... good luck wit that tho speakle!
