Yep, what he said. It helps warm it up in winter, dealer has to enable it I believe with the starscan or something. BTW, the only "dumb" question is the one that's not asked. most of the time if you do a search here you can find the answer.

 

What's been said already, but I use it in the summer to help keep cool when I have to stop and look up something in a catalog to answer a customers question.

BTW, the dealers are pretty much unaware of this option and once they figure it out they usually want to charge you for it. I got mine for free, by going in for some pay work (oil change) then going back to the shop and asking the tech to hook up the starscan tool and we found it and enabled it. If you can do this it is in the same place where they can enable day time running lights and a few other options. Good luck.

I am going to have this done soon. Do you know what the other features are they can enable?

 

High idle, Day Time Running Lights, and Accessory Delay are the ones I know about. I like the HI and AD options alot. With the AD you can turn the key off and the radio, windows, and cig lighter will stay working for the time limit set when they enableit (up to 10 minutes)or until you open the door. I don't know what else can be done for sure.

 

with the high idle are you able to set it before you start because i have auto start and if i start the truck with it i would like it to idle up so it will warm better in our -50+ temps here

 

You have to do it when after you start the engine.

On mine the acc delay is allready enabled. I also really like that feature.
