Default Fuel Plate

Somebodytold me that i could remove my stock fuel plate on my 97 without adjusting the analodes and see a power increase and the truck still get good fuel mileage and run well. Is this true?

Also when removing the plate there is a bolt that has a solid round head that you have to knock the head off of to get out. when i take this out do i have to replace it with a new one?

Default RE: Fuel Plate

yes and yes.

when you put in a new plate it would be good to give the star wheel(fuel rate advance) a few clicks as well. this way you would see a good boost in performance. you dont have to, but adding in the fuel plate alone may make the engine run a bit rough.
