Welcome aboard. Let us know how the 6.7 works for you. I almost wish I had a 6.7. One of my buddies is working for cummins and is working on the engine maps. He has all the software to write fuel curves and timing for the engines. He said there are six parameters that they adjust when going after power. He said so far they've had them up to 1200 ft lbs with all stock hardware and still meeting emissions, but that was a generator not an automotive application. If I could get one without the emissions stuff I'd definitely have him program it and forget about all the chips. He said the two things that are most helpful in determining if you are going to break something is the turbo in temp (EGT) and the peak cylinder pressure. I'm trying to learn as much as possible from him while I'm home. He doesn't have any of the old programs though so he can't help me out as I don't have a common rail.

I was a previous Ford guy too (22 years worth). My last '04 6.0 sent me over here to the dark side. I've had my truck for a year now. Pretty much still in love, especially when towing my camper. After you get 500 miles on her hook up to some serious weight and give it hell, you'll be amased how it responds to that type of break in.
