Default Code 2607 ???

Anyone know what the code P2607 is and what its functions. I threw the engine light on earlier today and my list of codes don't go past the 1900's codes. Thanks.

Intake Air Heater Relay 2 Low

I'd clear it out and see if it comes back. . . .

I see you posted it over at TDR

Yes, figure I can get more responses on acouple of forums. See how many similiar responses I can get so I can get a little educated before I go to the dealer next week. So far I have the definition, but what is it exactly and whats its function?

sounds like a relay isnt kicking. also if it goes away after 5 full starts then it would be something to check into. usualy if a code pops up for a moment, the computer will hold it in memory for a while(5 full starts). during that time period if it doesnt happen again it will just erase the code and the light will go out.

If it does come back on disconnect the intake heater plug, you don't need it anyway this time of year, then see if it comes back on.......depending on where in the country you buy your truck they don't even hook it up at the factory.

So this is the block heater plug? If so no I don't have the plug since I live in California (even though it gets cold out here and snows). Not required on California trucks.

No, its not the block heater plug, it the intake air heater. There is a heater on the intake manifold that heats the air when the outside temp is below a certain temp. Disconnect the battery to clear the code and disconnect the heater plug also.

Ok, thanks. So I take itwill not hurt my engine if I run around w/ this light on. I will have the dealer deal w/it. It's under warranty (even though it's a easy fix). I have life time oil changes through my dealer. The only time I go to the dealer. I do every thing else unless it's a warranty deal. Thanks again.
