How long does it take you??
I see a LOT of "car wash"
Man, either you guys are lazy going to car washes or maybe I'm a little **** about my truck. Sharx of all people.... pay to have it done ! I pictured you scrubbing every little area you could find.
I would never go through a car wash, not that my truck would fit anyway but, that's a sure way to start the scratching and clear coat deterioration. I wash my own and it takes on average 4hrs to do it right. That includes taking my time and waxing which gets done every other wash. To just wash it takes a little over an hour.
Some may think thats over doing it but, my '95 Ram I just sold had the same treatment and at 12yrs old still had a gloss to the original paint.

It takes me at least two hours wash the exterior and vacuum the interior and wash windows. It took me 6-8 hours to cut polish the entire truck. I watched a fellow wash his truck once a week for years and his truck looked brand new. This is the approach that I am taking now, I wash it once a week. I have to aggree with Triton if you wash it by hand you know that it is getting done right and not damaging the finish. I chose to cut polish my truck myself after recieving a $400 dollar quote to have it done. I purchased the polishing machine and all the cut polish for $200.
