Default New Truck Update

So I've had this truck for a little less than a month and now have 1500 miles on it. I have had no problems.

Zero, nada, zilch. (knocks on wood)

The truck was built in Feb 07 and sat on the lot until Jun. It had the PCM Flash the day before I looked at it, so no problems with the DPF.

My mileage with the 3.73 gears has been 13.4, 14.7, and 15.6 (hand calculated).

I have noticed that the oil seems over full as measured on the dipstick, but have not done anything about it. Still on the factory oil and will wait till the overhead indicates that an oil change is required.

As reported by other Mega Cab owners, the A/C airflow seems low even at full-blast/recirculated. However, the A/C has never failed to cool the truck even with the temps in the high 90s with 100+ heat index.

The 6 speed automatic and the engine brake are fantastic. I look forward to towing something someday...

Although some have reported problems with the new 6.7L Cummins, my experience has been nothing but positive and I have no regrets. [sm=smiley20.gif]

I've had mine just over a month with 1720 miles on her. Unfortunately my truck did not get a PCM flash like others did and I had the particulate filter clogging issue. After it was re-flashed I'm back up and running with no issues.

I too have noticed that the oil level looks over full when checked. I did ask the service tech about it when it was in for the PCM flash and he said he had other similar complaints. He showed me how to check the oil level (as if it were my first vehicle) and sure enough it looked high to him. After he looked to see if there were any bulletins on that issue, he came back and told methat the oil needs to be checked "cold". I explained that the owners manual says to wait 30 minutes if the truck has been running before you check it. He said the owners manual is a generic guide, but the oil should be checked cold. So what do you do if you are on a trip and check your oil at every fuel stop? Still waiting on an explanation on that.

Other than that, the truck is great and I'm not really sure how much oil is in it.

Same here, I was told to check it about a minute or two after shutdown. Mine was "overfull" too at first. Took mine back to the stealer and that's what they said.

I thought mine was over full at first too. I noticed if I let it sit while I fill up the fuel tank including the several minutes it takes to squeeze in the last 5 gallons, and then check it I get better results. Also noticed that there is oil in the zone and then some blank space and then some more oil. I just ignore anything over the blank space. I watched them change my oil and even made them short me 1/2 quart to be sure. Still gets the same results, oil up to the safe zone, then some clean stick, then another inch of oil above the clean space. So far 35K miles (4 oil changes)and no issues.

Thanks for that, clears up a bunch of my concerns. I did notice a space on the plastic tip with no oil, but thought I may have rubbed it on the tube or something.
