Tranny is due for a fluid change and i have a few question for you well knowledged individuals..
i would like to drain the fluid, change the filter, then add new fluid, start the truck and pump outwhats in the torque converter, and cooler into a bucket.then add some more new fluid.i was wondering how many gals, or quarts the tranny and torque converter and cooler hold total? then i was wondering which line you unhook coming from the cooler, is it the front one, or back? i believe there is two filter in this thing correct me if I'm wrong, is it necessary to change both? and finally do you recommend a band adjustment? thank in advance, sorry for such a long post. any replys will be greatly appreciated. Also maybe throw in what brand of fluid you use. thanks again

I believe Drew said it would take 5 gals to flush the system.

Valvoline atf +4. Not sure which line is the return from the cooler, but after driving around fell which one is cooler than the other. This will be the return. I'm not sure on the fluid flush but I know it takes 6 qts to fill it backup if you drop just the pan.

drop pan. . .change filters. . .re-install pan. fill with good synthetic ATF, check stick while in neutral with engine running and your done.

I know this is not draining the torque converter, however this will add new back in and refresh the system.

should also mention that the atf-4 is considered a group 3 fluid and is called a synthetic... I found that for what the tranny shop was charging for fluid, I can go to the performance shop & get redline atf-4 for the same cost... also, walmart sells mopar atf-4 for about $4.50/quart...
