A/C problem I am being told is common
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins (of course). The dual climate temperature control is not working right on the passenger side. It doesn't blow out any cold air when on A/C and the dealer is telling me it is the vent door has broken off inside and the dash has to be removed. My point is the driver's side works great and if I push the passenger temp over to hot, it blows out heated air. When I push it back to cold it blows out air the same temperature as is in the truck, providing I have it on recirculate.
I would normally just take this into the dealer since it is under warranty but I live in the middle of nowhere UT, and I have to spend a few days in Vegas and can't get it fixed before I have to leave.
Any ideas? I hate to spend 3 days in that 115+ degree weather with only one side of A/C working. Especially since my wife will be the one sitting in the passneger seat. LOL
Thanks to all.

I have that same set up, if you close the vents and use the floor and vent setting will cool air come out on the floor portion or is that associated with it as well?
YEP, it's common, and YEP, the dash hasta come out to repair it.
I know it sucks, but make sure ou get it done while it's still under warranty. You don't wanna hafta foot THAT bill !![sm=outcold.gif]

I just went and checked and it is the same scenario on all settings - floor, vent, and defrost. It just doesn't make sense that if I move it over to Hot the heater works just fine. Same temp on both sides.
I will definetly get it done before warranty expires. I can imagine it would be a large chunk of money.

Had one of the HVAC doors do that in my 03. Dash was pretty easy to pull though. It's a problem with the doors and the design of the HVAC housing and the couplers that keep the doors in the housing. I did a write up on it somewhere in the 3rd gen forums a few months ago.
