Default 2005 diesel reliability?

I'm looking at buying a 2005 Ram 2500 4X2 with the cummins diesel. I'm looking for some help on reliability, fuel mileage unloaded, or any problems across the board. The truck has not been used for towing or hauling that I can tell and it has 33,000 miles on it. Thanks for any help you can provide.

hi and welcome to the DF! you will find just about anything you need to know in this section if you just use the search there at the bottom. just to put answer some of what you asked ....... average mpg unloaded seems to be any where from 12-20, if you type fuel mileage in the search there is a thread stricly for those postings and you will find out plenty there. also about the whole probloms across the board question....the only problem i have had so far is staying out of it. the damn truck is a gift to drive! i have an 05 with around 18k on it and its the best truck ive drove in. very responsive, strong, and from what you hear....durable! like i said and im sure others will..... use that search and read up a little. GOODLUCK!

I love my 05 ctd, have 36500 miles on it and no problems. off road and on road is great. I did get stuck once but I was anchored and slow in soft sand. my fault.
