Default RE: Payload Rating

Yeah, it can be a little frustrating. If I loaded up my 3/4 ton truck with a fifth wheel and push the weight to 2400#'s, I am completely overweight if I go strictly by the numbers on the web site. However, the same GMC and Ford truck could carry the same payload and then some, according to the numbers.

EDIT: I just realized that the values I posted for the GMC is for the gas engine. Stupid website. It figures they would list the payload for the gasser since its higher. Decieving... I wonder what the payload is for the diesel version of the truck. I can't seem to find it.

I thought I read somewhere that dodge came up with their payloadvalue by taking 9000 - "thecurb weight"so that theGVWRwould not exced9000lbs even, for some reason?

What cab styles did you select for comparison. The Megacab is heavier and will reduce the payload.
