Default Edge A2

I am a bit confused. I am thinking about buying an Edge A2 b/c it has the built in GPS, but if I get the just the A2 I still have to buy the "juice"?

Is the juice what gives it the power? The best I can figure is that the Attitude is the heads up display and the juice is the add on to the ECM. Is that correct?

Also if you buy the A2 and get the GPS nav stuff is there some monthly subscription fee you have to pay for that?

The A2 does not require a subscription and is the Heads Up display as you call it when connected to the Juice. To run the juice you do not need either the A2 or the Attitude but to run either of them you must have the Juice as it provides power and some of the signals for the display.

I do not believe you can run the A2 just as a GPS without having it connected to the Juice even though the Juice has nothing to do with GPS.

Hey mblanco, I had looked into the A2 as well, but later decided to go with the Attitude due to the mounting issue. The A2 is mounted by way of a large suction cup on the windshield, which I didn't care for the looks. The Attitude fits into a nicely designed A-pillar mount from Gaugeworks. As for the GPS, I recently bought the Garmin Nuvi 660, which is I think a better unit than the combo style of the A2. When I don't need the GPS, I simply remove it and the mount from the windshield.
