They claim it will get close to 20 mpg city/24 mpg highway. What do you'll think of the design? Wondering if it will be reliable... It says in the article that the EGR valve is casted in. What is the design of inline cummins?



Proud owner of a 2002 QC 1500 Ram 4.7L who is itching to get a diesel.

 

Cummins wouldn't release it unless they thought it would last. Did you read the part where it has been in testing for years before they even announced they were making one? My guess is they wanted to make sure they could make it reliable before they announced it. That way they weren't rushed into producing a crappy product.

 

cummins has been testing these two engines since around 04. they have two ram's with the engines in htem and apparently they are some serious road burners.

 

I have been following this story as well, Right now my wife has a Trailblazer "yeah I know" but when the Ram diesel 1500's are released I told her we are going to be a pure dodge family and she was getting a Ram 1500 Diesel. To my surprise she agreed and now asks me on a regular basis for updates lol.

 

I hope it is better than the 903 POS V8

i hope they dont' sound ne thing like th v8 powerstroke i hate the sound of them buddy has his straight piped and thinks its the koolest thing in the world i think they sound like a muffled out half dead gasser!!
