I'm thinking that guy has a point. I'm going to go hybrid. Let me try to guess how the conversation at my dealer would take place:

Hey, sales dude, I'd like to get a little hybrid-winnie car. Could one of you point me to the one with the 16,000 lbs towing capacity.

Uh, no towing but you can put 300 lbs in the trunk.

Ummm ok, so, lets see... that will take a few extra tips huh?

Just 54 trips.

Got ya, 150 miles per trip makes 8,100 miles traveled. So what's the milage again?

51 highway... but most customers don't see that you know.

I'll spot you the 51 mpg's, but wait, that adds up to... 158 gallons of gas!

What does your truck take?

You know, pulling a heavy load does drop my milage down to about 10.

10 MPGs! You are killing our environment! That trip in your truck takes ... oh... wait, just 15 gallons?

Yep. And I'm not dumping all that nickel and crap in to the landfill. Hey... how did they get this car to the dealership?

We bring em all in on a truck.

A big smoke belching diesel truck? How toxic of you! Why don't you just have the hippies backpack them in the dealership part by part...
