squeeking noise only in reverse
I have a 03 2500 cummins, when backing up in slow speeds got a squeek that will speed up as the truck speeds up, i think its a u joint, if so, how hard are these to replace and any advice would help. thanks
I remember having that same problem on a Dakota i used to own... Check your drive shafts and see if there are any rubber boots/grommets or what ever you'd like to call them.... If there is... get a good lube... preferably in an aerosol can with that little red straw .... .and shoot some into the rubber parts... try that and see what happens....
I had a 1994 s10 blazer that did that same thing but in drive. Squeek squeek squeek. That was a long time ago but I remember having to use a vise with a socket and something else to push it apart. My vise wasnt strong enough so it went with my dad to work where they had a 50 ton press...that did the trick.
