HVAC woes
Just in case you guys don't remember I said I didn't have control of the temperature in my truck. It would go cool over time, but if I slowed down to fast I got hot air. I had dodge diagnose it and they said they weren't exactly sure what the problem was but thought it would be $1000 to $1200 which is way to much. So I started reading up on the system got some scematics and I decided it was the blend door itself, since the one thing dodge told me was all the actuators were working. I tore my truck all apart, you have to take the dash out, drain the coolant and the refrigerant and pull the HVAC out as a unit. This is the part that was broken, not even anything with the door itself, this rinky dink piece of plastic crap. On a positive note I will return the door and do the whole job for the cost of fluids and some JB weld or epoxy. I'm going to double check to make sure JB weld will work and then I'm going to put that on and clamp it and let it cure. Then I'm going to twist on it pretty good to make sure it will work. If it won't I'm not out any time as I can't order that coupler thing until monday anyway. Man I wish they would have just done it right and used metal.

Between the motor and the blend door I don't know why they couldn't have just made the motor go directly on the shaft, but yea, it goes between the rectangular end on the motor to the semi circular shaft on the blend door. The blend door just determines what percent of the air flow goes past the heater core, hence I always get hot air if I slow down to fast because the door is heavier at one end and flips so that all the air goes through the heater core..
Yeah, Rooster, have this issue onmy 01' also.Thing I found out that I have lived with for a couple of months now is with the thermojust above the coldest setting, right aboutwere the red starts, the thing will stay cold forever. But like you said, all you ahve is all cold orall hot. Anyone had luck getting this form the dealer yet?
Even better than that, the a/c on my 06' went out this weekend on a 500 mile road trip. Going in for warranty work this morning!
