FASS System?
Hey Guys,
I talked to a "FASS dealer" and they said they would charge me $430 for the system without filters and they would run that over the system with filters because the system with filters doesnt have a heater and that is what he is running on his truck. What to yall think? system with filters? or with out?

diesels thrive on CLEAN fuel. Maybe not yours so much as the new ones but, I'd be in your best interest to have filter.
Maybe you could do like someone else mentioned.... run the FASS and then get the 2 miron big line kit from GDP.

yea. . .run the line to the stock filter, then from there to the 2 micron filter. the stocker will catch the big crap. . .and you will still have your heater and water seperator.
Like Jake mentioned to you, you have the option of using the stock housing or not. It all in how you plumb the lines.
Draw it out on a piece of paper. Coming from the tank, go to the FASS. From there go to the stock housing. Leave out of the stock housing to the 2 micron filter. Leave out of the 2 micron filter and go to the VP44.
You may not have ever fitting you need with the kits you get so, do a dry run with the parts.... see what all you need and go from there. Don't let it intimidate you. It's really very easy to do. Just take your time and do it early so if you do need parts you can still make it to the local hareware to get what you might need if anything.

I would order the FASS complete with their full sized ( 150 size ) filters and call it a day. They are in the process right now of comming out very soon with either a 2 or a 3 micron filter, I can't remember. I'm in contact with them almost daily.

If you want to retain the useage of your stock fuel heater, run the line from the FASS into your empty ( no filter ) canister where your heater is and you'll be fine. That's how i ran it.
yeah i thought it was more of a big thing then i guess it is. I had not even heard about the FASS untill this forum so i am glad I did and I am interested to see what the dealer ship saysabout the fuel pressure.....

Mayfair, there are 3 micron filters out there for the fass already, Check out fleetgaurdp/n HF6604 for the filter and fleetgaurd p/n FS1023 for the water seperator. You don't have to buyDPP filters. Thats the whole point of getting the "150 filter head"
