I do remember someone saying something. . .I have the procedure on paper, but nothing to go with it.
I've been to busy with work and all. I'll take some pics of the procedure tomorrow.

We advise checking at 100,000 miles. but by the time you check it, its not that much more to have it done.

you are just making the tollerances closer between the rocker arms, valve stems, and push rods so things dont hammer too much. your also allowing the valves to open up just a bit more

if you are way out you could have a push rod dance out of the cup and do some damage. Ive seen one shoot straight through the valve cover during an engine blow competition.

I did mine at 80k and it sure quieted the motor down. If your going to check them, you might as well adjust them to spec. Intake valve is the closest to the front of the engine on that cyclinder.

So does the crank case breather assembly on my 01 just unscrew from the engine?

ok heres the scoop...

12 valves need adjustment..24 valves are hydrolic..no adjustment needed.

place wrench on alt pulley.

turn belt backwards to achieve tdc...

the machanic turned it backwards and worked each cylinder as it came about..like cyl 1 then 4 then what ever. took him 15 min to do all of it and place my 6 valve covers back on...cost me $100 too [:@]

You baja fan, 24 valves do need adjustment! I have an 03. I'm going to get it adjusted here soon. Probably do it myself and post pics. Just havne't had time lately. But my buddy has an 03 rolled into a shop. asked em to adjust his valves. It says in the haynes repair manual that you should have your valves adjusted every 150k. Fact. 24v need they're valves adjusted. Anyways. as soon as i get the time i'm going to do it I'll post pics.
