CTD questions.
Hello,
I am starting to do my homework on new trucks. I'm very partial to Ram 2500 CTD's even though I've never had one (I have a 1500 QC 4.7 liter) So I have a few questions for those of you who have CTD's
1) What kind of fuel mileage are you getting in "around town" driving? (stock)
2) Besides fuel filters and oil every 10 - 15 K are there any other maintenence issues I should be aware of before spending the extra 10K for a CTD?
3) Is there anything else I should know about CTD's that I could be overlooking before buying one?
Thanks

Welcome to the future CTD side. Let me tell you I went from the Hemi toa CTD and will never go back to gas

I have 35 inch tires and average 15.5 around town and highway with off roading
2) Besides fuel filters and oil every 10 - 15 K are there any other maintenence issues I should be aware of before spending the extra 10K for a CTD?
I do fuel filter every 10,000. then just like the other vehicles fluid changes at the recomended intervals.
3) Is there anything else I should know about CTD's that I could be overlooking before buying one?
Take the plunge, you will not be sorry. the motor will last you a lot longer and you will have higher resale value.

The only diff between Jimmy and I is I am bone stock. Gauges coming in the next few weeks then an aero.
Right now I get probably around 18-19MPG around town, I live in a small town with hardly any stop and go. I have seen as high as about 24MPG.
Thats greast considering I only have about 2300 miles on my truck so far.
Take the plunge, you won't be sorry!
As a new CTD owner myself, I wrestled with many the same thoughts you are now. I've had mine less than a month, got about 1000 miles on it now and am getting a little better that 18mpg stock hand calculated in mixed driving empty. I've had and driven many trucks over the years, these are great rigs. Payload and longevity are why I bought mine, no regrets on my part. All things considered if you work a good deal, the bang for the buck is unmatched. They are meant to work and hold their value.
