Can't read... DOH!
Ordered about 10 qts of 75W-90 gear oil from Amsoil, enough for both my truck and my wife's car, or so I though...
I did all the fluids in my wife's car, and no problems, even looked like I had plenty left for the truck. Well decided to do the rear end first. Got it all drained, cleaned and put back together. Grabed 3 qts of oil leaving 3 qts for the front... Well I put in 1, 2, 2.5... should be done here shortly... 3... went and got the 4th qt and almost used the entire thing. At about 3 I was looking ALL over for a leak... did I forget to put a bolt in was it coming out somwhere... WTF!!! I thought the rear end was a 10.5 diff and it should only take 2.5 qts (approx).
Well there was my mistake... I can't read! The sticker in the glove box said 11.5 and I just completely missed that. DOH!!!
Well now I have to order more from Amsoil to do the front, luckly I did the rear first and not the front or I wouldn't be driving the truck anymore!
