you need to use another filter before it decides to grenade on you. when it does your engine will lock down due to oil starvation. the filter media will clog all the oil chanels when it does this.

Why do we have a gas guy giving advice on CTD's is he lost.

Unless he's a diesel mechianic or stayed Holiday Inn Express,He shouldn't be giving advice here, and I never would use fram on my DAK's either Napa gold for me .

I used to use fram, until I saw a study comparing other filters. They really blew them out of the water in QC and filtering ability- dead last out of around 10 other filters. I'd been using purolator on my dakota ever since - no problems with 150k. Haven't changed the oil in my ram yet, but will probably get fleetguards. here's some good reading: http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html

you mean "dodgerules86"

he seems to be a " Section Moderator ".

for where? who knows. he drives a dak and has no clue how we are here I bet.

as far as filters are concerned in a CTD, use WIX, NAPA GOLD (WIX) or go to a diesel shop and get FLEETGUARD filters for the truck.
