Default yet another lift pump question

as you know I am in need of a new lift pump, I was gonna get the fass but I'm in debt up to my eyes and I need to save money, right now my truck is getting 10 psi cruising around, I found a shop that would do a stocker lift pump for 350 bucks, my question is what will my psi go up to with the new pump cruising around town and at WOT? thanks for any info!

Mybe 1 or 2 psi. Sounds like yours is still got some life left in it. When it gets down to around 6 psi cruising and about 3psiwot its time to get it repalced asap.

I agree with Jake. If I remember correctly Mayfair is getting around 14psi or so with his FASS, so I would say that 10psi isn't all that bad and can give you time to save up some dinero to upgrade. Just keep an eye on the pressure and don't let it get much below 6psi or you can risk toasting out your injector pump.

Also, the stock lift pump isn't that hard to do yourself. It takes about half an hour and costs around $160 or so from Cummins or another parts store. Not that I would recommend putting another stock LP in.

Don't bother paying a shop to do the install. If I can do it, anyone can. Until you do get around to doing it though, keep a close eye on your fuel pressure gauge. I don't think I'd drive it past 8 psi just to be on the safe side. Once it does drop down that low, SHUT IT DOWN !! I'm pretty sure you have the VP-44 in your Ram, and they have zero tolerance for low fuel pressure. If you think you have money problems now, starve your VP-44 and you'll be out 2 grand quick !!

As far as replacement pump options go, triton has a Walboro and he seems realy happy with it. It's a less expensive pump than the FASS ( which is what I'd REALLLY like to see you get ), but apparently the Walboro is better than the stocker.

My fuel pressure goes from 14 - 12 psi. I've never seen it below 12.
