Default 5000 miles and first problem

Ok so my brother took my truck to the outer banks this week and after reading all these problems i had my first one lol ... anyways he was driving around and the check engine light came on ... i told him to take it to the nearest dodge dealer and they ran a code it said it had a turbo boost problem. The mechanic said i dont see a problem its getting all the boost and told my brother he would not reset the computer and to have me take it to my local dodge dealer. By that time my brother was driving it back to the house and the check engine light went off ... has anyone had this problem or anything .. do you think i should take it to my local dodge dealer and have them look into it?

Probably just some sort of hiccup. Have you checked the codes yet?

6.7L ? If so then yes, lots of codes about the turbo. A reflash is forthcoming, but from what I have read, use your exhaust brake a few times and it cleans the soot the EGR sticks to the VGT vane.

Yeah its the 6.7L ... i use the exhaust brake alot cause i always have a trailer on the back of my truck so i use it to slow me down. But its a good thing to know i can post on here and get a answer really quick about what it is and how to fix it.

jac, it would be helpful for you to put a signature line in your profile so that people know the paticulars about your truck. It will make getting an answer easier. BTW I would still take it to the dealer and let them record the code, just a little warranty C.Y.A. move.

i most likely would take it to the dealer because it is so new and if there are any problems you can get the worked out under warrenty! do it!
