how accurate is overhead console? Way up to lake 700km (with boat behind)it said 25.9 mpg US. On the way back 700 km (without boat behind)it said 32.5 MPG us....are these figures real? both times i reset the overhead as well
i dont trust it. In my old truck it was saying i was getting 30 MPG in a 4.7L V8....not possible. That truck barley got 240 miles a tank.

Sallyman.... Our gal (Alberta) is larger in volume then the US gal close to 1 litre difference.. so you'll go farther on an imperial gallon vs the US gallon (being smaller)

I have a 01 rclb with a service body onboard, and I averave 18 mpg around town and up to 24 on the highway. Mine is a 2wd with the heavy duty camper suspension and a 3.54 rear.

Oh yeah, and I do not keep my foot out of it either.

I have an '01 2wd 2500 and I have done the calculations by hand and they are the same as the overhead reading about 20-22 in town and 22-27 hwy depending on how I drive.

My hand caculation is getting closer and closer to my overhead. I am about 1 mpg more on my overhead than by hand. I can't speak for everybody but I know thay by not hitting the reset button when the MPG display is up, it is doing a better job averaging fuel milage. I use to hit that button three or four timeand it made me feel realy good to see 28 mpg. But now that I haven't reset it on the last 4 trips to the station, it's getting more and moreaccurate. Just my .02

I was just thinking about this this morning when I filled up. I am gunna have to run a whole tank without hitting the reset on the fuel eco mode. I have kinda been using it as an instant gratification thing...and sorta curiousity to see what kinda mileage it gets while doing certain things. cruising freeway at 73mph was showing around 17.3...however what was real cool was going down a 6% grade with a 7300# trailer and it was showing like 98mpg...it was a really long grade and did not have to touch the go pedal for like 8 miles

I'm at 21,500 now and just got back from a 3,752 miles trip pulling 7420 lbs. I averaged 9.7 mpg using the brew and the edge on 1 or 2 and under 2000 rpm as much as possible and in O/D as much as possible speed 60-68 WTF??
