Default 07 tranny problem?

Just turned 5500 miles on my 07 6.7 CTD and started noticed today that the transmission downshifts REAL hard between 2nd and 1st. Got rid of several ford superdutys becaus the trannys were crap and hoping the Dodge isn't headed the same way. Any ideas??

Are you driving with the electronice exhaust brake on? If so it will downshift harder.

I believe you have the 68RE tranny which is suppose to be the bomb diggity. The older 48RE is also a good trans but, they've done some upgrading with yours. You could check your fluid level but other than that, I assumeyou're under warranty so I'd have the dealer take a look at it. It may be something as simple as a ECM flash.

Tow button and exhaust brake are off. Hopefully it is something as simple as a flash, just a pain in the butt to take it in.
