Default Stock Tranny?

So i have a 2500 that i bought last oct. i have about 54k on it already. I would like to know what is the life expenticey on the stock trnny?. and if there are any problems that i should know about. also would like to know how much an after market tranny will coast. any info? thanks

well if you dont put to many performance mods and such on your truck it will last long enought.
ats and bd make replacement transmissions but they really hurt the wallet.

To add to the above... Assuming your truck is stock, and you maintain it according to the book, you should be good to go for many miles. Please fill out your signature line so that everyone knows what year, options ect you have. This will help people to give you better answers.

If you got a new 6spd auto it is suppose to last for a long time. Longer than the old 4 speeds or so I hear.

finny,

FYI, have you looked at or read the new AST warranty? Its no longer as good as it use to be and I've heard a few who have already had problems with it and they are now SOL and up the creek with out a paddel.
