Default Fleetguard oil filters

Getting ready to order a couple of oil filters from Geno's and have this question. What's the difference between the standard filter (LF3972) and the stratapore (LF16035)? I'm assuming one is better than the other but which?

JDH-

Most folks here like Geno's garage. He's the link for the filters.

The Stratapore is made of a synthetic filtration media, which gives a longer life than the resin-impregnated cellulose of most filters. Other high quality synthetic oil filters include the Amsoil Ea and the Donaldson Endurance (available through Amsoil).

I buy from Geno's on a regular basis, they have great prices and outstanding customer service. Do yourself a favor and check them out! Ask them to send youa catalog "they usually do withoutyou asking"with your order, I usually fall asleep reading a Geno's catalog or DieselPower

Wix are good. . .and in a pinch I would use them in my truck

of all the filters out there I would only consider Wix, Fleetguard, and Donaldson. You cannot go wrong with the Fleetguard Strattapore since fleetguard is actualy a division of Cummins, and the filter DC uses on the truck is just a rebranded Fleetguard standard filter.

I just installed a napagold oil filter last week. they said it was made by wix. would ya figure a local diesel supply to carry fleetguard?

we have FLEET PRIDE here in phx. they seem to be a pretty big diesel repair and supply shop.

just called fleet pride ( http://fleetpride.com/fp_p/index.html). they cross referencedmy napa gold with the fleetguard filters.

93 ctd part # LF3349
$7.56 without an accountat fleet pride. thats 2 1/2 bucks cheaper than napa and its fleetguard!!!
