'96 Wants To Die In Reverse
My fiance's '96 is about to drive me nuts. When you put it in reverse, especially at start up, it acts like it wants to die and will if you romp on it. It normally goes away after you drive for a little while, but even when you've driven for awhile it'll still do it if you hit the fuel. I've changed the filter and just found out about the strainer before the filter. Just thought I would drop a line here and see if anyone had any other ideas.

whats the idle speed of the engine. . .second I'm wondering if for some reason the TC is trying to lock up in reverse.
just remember, the tranny pump is not working while the truck is in park.

Big line kit is on order. I love Geno's Garage, but it seems like it takes awhile for them to ship. I was going to go with the FASS, but got a really good deal on the Aeromotive and figured I would give it a try.
The RPMs when you start it are right around 1000 and then drop to almost 500 in reverse and the engine starts to idle rough.

That's what I just thought of a little while ago. My future father in law thought he would be a superstar and "turn up" the pump while it was at his house this summer. Basically he turned the star wheel down to almost nothing. I just reset it at halfway and will see what it does after it has been sitting in the driveway for awhile.
crank the star wheel up a bit more. . .I bet everything will go away. just make sure you turn it the right way

I'm turning it so it advances toward the front of the motor. When I popped the nut off the housing and saw the wheel all the way down I had some choice words. I was about all set to get a new fuel pump for it and have the IP checked.
