Tranny doin some weird stuff!!!
Whoa. Hold on. My father had the same problem in his 98 and he talked to a transmission guy and he said there was a solenoid, I forget what it is called, that has a little spring in it that goes bad. He gave my father a rebuild kit for the solenoid and it fixed the problem.

I understand that having them adjusted under normal conditions needs to be paid for but when the truck is brand new and has like 10,000 miles on it and you tell the dealer you have noticed it for a while.. shouldn't it be coverd?
How much can one expect to pay to get the bands adjusted on the tranny for a 2005 CTD? And also does anyone know what the outcome/difference is if the bands are too tight or too loose, what would one expect too see from both scenarios.
Thanks
Thanks
Cleaning both ground wires on my batteries and the ground to the engine fixed my tranny good as new. It's a VERY common problem, but not a well known solution. I took my Ram to a tranny shop and just by luck the problem was just discussed in some sort of tranny magazine that gets sent to tranny shops. The guy had just read it and it was fresh on his mind. he told me to take it home and clean up the grounds. if I still have probelms, bring it back.
That was last year and Thank God I'm still shifting fine ( knock on wood ...
