Default 5.9 or 6.7

Todays decision day dealer found me a 2007 5.9 auto Standerd cab long box SLT 4x4 2500 MSRP 39k sell for 35k heres theissue we had looked at a 07 6.7 slt quad cab long box 3500 manual for the OTD price of35,900. Is the 5.9 realy that much better of a platform or 6.7 with more truck Stealer says he can get full msrp from the 5.9 but dodge is realy pushing the 6.7. I own a 2500 with the hemi no problems but its very thirsty when I have it loaded for work about 32k miles in 8 months so fuel has been 1200.00 plus amonth so I need to make the switch. so lets here what opinions are out there.
Thanks for you help

If it was me I would go with the 5.9, less emission junk, less to worry about. The 5.9 has proven itself, the 6.7 doesnt even make much more power. Only reason I would go with the 6.7 is to get the 6 speed auto trans.

I have a Quad cab 06 2500 5.9 & a Reg cab 07 6.7 (god the cab on that thing is tiny).

If this is going to be your only vehicle in the family I'd go for the quad cab. Both trucks run great. Yeah you can't mod the heck out of the 07 yet. But from what I'm seeing the people who are having problems with the DPS are either running fuel additives or took the DPF's out.

We don't have a ton of miles on the 07 yet (only had it a month and were on vacation for two weeks of that). But it runs great. The clutch on the 6 speed is very heavy though - - so make dang sure you wanna be doing that much shifting!

I have only test driven teh 6.7, ran nice for that few miles. I have a 5.9 and I love it. I am sure the 6.7 is great as bksram has it and loves it. I wish I could have a 6 speed auto mated with my truck. that would be sweet.
