Default Smarty lesson

Itowed my trailers up to the mountain last weeked, when we were half way up I deciede to turn the smarty on and see if the clutch would hold. I hooked it up and started the download then everything went crazy on me, I tried five times to set back to stock but kept getting error codes. after a while I deciede to unhook the trailer wires to see what happen and bingo that was it. So don't have a trailer wire harness hooked up when changing programs.I don' know about other programers.

I have a feeling this would be an 06-07 thing. 05's and previous dont have a TIPM fuse panel and this is probably where you were having your problems.

steelhauler, I would say youwerelucky!!!.... When installing any programmer, any and all additional eclectrical accessories like CB radios, xm/cirus, "trailer wiring", laptops,12v power adapters like cell phone chargers and the like, or opening a truck door, even a powered up cell phone in your pocket may affect the programmer. In the likelyhood of a power surge from any device, it may cause a programmer failure.OH!! the horror if one was to experience a power surge while trying to return settings back to stock, because its goping into the dealer for work!!
