You guys think all the sled pullers and drag racers are sticking to 3200 rpm max? These engines will hold together at much higher rpm's. Does that mean I will take my engine there alot? NO. Have I been past red line? YES several times, in fact about every time I try to take off fast in second gear it goespast the red line before I can grab the next gear.

 

I'm pretty sure our trucks have some sort of governor or someting on them. the fastest i was able to get to was about 115 mph. I had plenty of peddle left, but that's all she would go. [:@]

 

I don't know man, I would be scared to run my truck higher than 3,200 or so, I guess it is because I don't have enough money to fix it if it broke though.

 

well 4.10's i dont expect to have to high of a top speed. And no im not planning on doing that to often but the chance was there no dangers no cops so i did it. I didnt hit any kinda rev limiter. Just wouldnt go any farther or faster. And as far as going into the red, not going to be a very often thing, becuase i do realize desiels ate not ment for higher rpms. but it sure got the blood pumping........ The F550 powerjoker in the back seat sure got jumpy though.....
