whats the standard for silicone based rtv to cure?

12 hrs?

5 hrs?

24 hrs?

Im doin my rear diff. tryin to figure when it can be driven again...

Depends on what you mean by cure. The black, red, and blue rvt can have oil present during the curing proccess. You can put the cover on and instantly fill it with oil and drive it. The grey stuff and certain others can't have oil present during the cure proccess. If you fill it up with oil after you just put the cover on, it'll leak.

found out this rtv I have which came right from the mechanics at Dodge has a fairly quick cure rate. basically you slap it on, button up what ever, wash up and clean the tools, then fill the fluids. 5 minutes or so. I called my Dodge service guy at home while I was waiting....
