Do I have a Factory Alarm
OK, my first post, and my first of probably a few dumb questions
. I bought an 04 Ram 3500 CTD SLT about two month back. I have never owned a Dodge before (absolutely love this truck) and am still learning about it. I read in the manual about the little red light on the right side of the instrument cluster that should flash slowly when I use my key fob door lock remote to secure the vehicle. This little light doesn't flash for me. The manual indicates the alarm is optional. If I don't have the factory alarm, what is this light for. It does turn red for a second when I turn the key to the on position prior to starting. Could the alarm be disabled...
Thanks,
D

Yea if it doesn't flash, no alarm. I have it and it flashes, I did not even know I had a alarm until I accidentally set it off. I unlocked doors with window down while getting something out and the horn went balistic.
just what ever you do. . .dont be in reverse with the drivers door open. . . .HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK
granted I have a 6spd so I dont have to worry, but I fianly heard one the other day. . .dang thats more annoying than the back-up alarm on the forklifts and tugs here at work.
