Default little problem

We just purchased a 2500 Ram Diesel. We were out on a back road yesterday and the truck had a bit of a problem. The truck would idle no problem when I gave it gas it would not rev. We were facing down hill at the time, whenwe got the truck turned around and we are now facing up the hill, once we did this, the truck ran great. What is going on with our truck?

Up until this year my girl friends Dad fixed all our truck and carissues, he loved his car and truck. 68 Superbee was one of his babies. Hopefully the problem is the filter. The pump was tested and I believe it was at 10 pounds of pressure.

The lift pump might have been tested at idle. But what really tells the tale is what it reads under load. Especially when its just starting to get weak. Good luck.
