Default Solution to oil burning engine

Hey guys i burnin a lot of oil about 2 quarts every 4000 mi. i had a mechanic tell me to clean out the crank vent tubes. i have a factory manual and it doesn't say a thing about crank vents on diesel motors. I was wondering if there was an additive that i could put in my oil with the next change to clean some stuff out. Some type of detergant or something. I don't want to change my brand of oil though. (rotella ) Appreciate any adviceguys. thanks

Change Oil some people have had problems with it , I use the Delo 400 and don't use a drop of oil, it can't hurt nothing to try it , my old Chevy would use a quart per thousand till I switched to Penn's Oil and quit using oil
