Checking in
Hey all,
Just saying hi from Iraq. Finally got a few minutes on an MWR computer cause the one at work has Websense and all kind of monitoing crap on it[:@]
Anyway, I miss my truck, but my wife starts it up for a few minutes every week, so it should be OK for another 4 months or so.
Anyway, everything here on base is powered by generators, and 90% are Cummins! To give you and idea, there are about 30,000 people on this base and all the electricity comes from big gen-sets. So you could say my whole is existance is powered by a Cummins
I thought you guys might like to see.

Most are like this one - 40 ft long sea-land containers. The main power plant on base has 40 of these in a row! But basically they are positioned wherever one is needed so they don't have to run long runs of cable.

We had similar generators where I was stationed in Afghanistan last year. Those engines got a lot of hard hours, trying to keep up with all those air conditioners!
