Default Does this sound right.

My wifes brother just bought a 2007 2500 CTD with a 5.9. He payed a local muffler shop $100 to cut the muffler off and put a piece of pipe in.
The bad part is that he works with me and can get all the 4" tubing that he wants for free.

Nope....it doesn't sound righthepaid too much. Local guy here would do it for $40. I didn't want it welded so I opted for the kit in my sig instead.

They told him it was expensive because there is a offset in the pipe.

what kind of tubing???

if its EMT then it will not hold up to exhaust gases. exhaust pipe is chemically treated to withstand the chemicals from the fuel.

How much did you pay for the kit?

It is 316 or 304 stainless tubing depending on what kind of lines we are running. We have done entire exhaust so it sould work.
