Default fuel filter change and differential fluid change

hey guys, sry it was a ****ty day out and i didnt take any pics but i will tomorrow for sure,
tomorrow im changing the fuel filter and differential fluids and i had a couple questions,
for the fuel filter, from what i have been told is just do it on a full tank of diesel, pull old filter oput of lil can, put in new on and fill up canister with diesel and hook er back up????? anything im missing???
and differential fluids is just drain old fluid and fill her back up with new fluid?? synthetic or not synthetic????
any tricks or tips would be appreciated....
and yea the truck was a lil expensive but it came safetied, which is like 3 gs, and all new rubber....still expensive but i loveddddddd it...

it depends on the year as to how the filter replacement is done, you may have one of the spin-on canisters, oh and there isnt realy much of a need to do it on a full tank.

as far as axel fluids, once again, it depends on the year. for 03's and up just get some good synthetic 75-90 and your good. for 2nd gens you need to find if you have a LSD or not, if you do you will need to add friction modifier to the synthetic 75-90.
