I know this is somewhere here but I can't find it. How do you get the codes out of the 3rd gen CTD's?

take the key and turn it from off to run three times but do not start. at the third time leave the key in run and on the odometer readout you will see a series of numbers proceded by a P. have pen and paper handy, write down the codes and then refer back to the post I made listing the codes.

when all codes have been displayed the odo. readout will display 'done'.

Does that clear the codes too or will you still have a service engine light?

if the problem was a one time shot and does not exist any longer it will go away after 5 full starts. . .unplugging the batteries will only erace your presets on your radio and thats it.

you can also buy yourself a code reader, they have the option to clear codes.
