Is there baffles in the stock air intake and can they be removed easily and what gains will you see or will you just see cons by removing them? and if it helps why are they there in the first place?

From what I understand, you can remove the plastic fins with a hacksaw.
All it really does is allow freeer movement of air into the turbo.
I replaced mine with a Airraid MIT. After I got the part, I found out that you could cut the baffles out.
Removing it allows the turbo to "sing" a little louder.

I ordered mine from http://www.autoanything.com.
I made the mistake of ordering the Airraid Jr kit which included a Airraid dropin filter.
The filter is junk IMO. I changed it out for an Amsoil EaA189 dropin, but you can order just the MIT.
Or the easier way would be cut the baffles out of the tube.
