New Truck Oil Change

This will be the second oil change on this new 5.9 ctd. So I know from reading in the past alot of guys have switched to synthetics. now I am trying to figure out when or if I should change to synthetic. Can someone please help me with this. Thanks I searched the posts but did not find what i was looking for.

If high dollar cars are broke in on a dyno there not coming with syn from the factory, I know for a fact ams oil stops wear dead, I got and 318 with 180000 and is like new engine wise

I'd wait 25~30k before doing the synthetic swap. mine I did around 25k and it may have been too soon since I dont tow. Not sure what to make of it but over the last 10k or so my motor feels stronger than it did back at 25k~30k with the same mods (in stock mode, no box). turbo spools quick, power is great, and as I mentioned in another post, finally hit 19 mpg for the 1st time coming back from whitney...
