I got lucky, the base had some tickets for sale so a few of us picked some up and went on a little adventure. I was really wishing I had my truck. It would have been great for the talegate party. Instead I had to show up in a little chevy. On a positive note we were 5th row turn one. It was a blast. Anyone else ever been to NASCAR? It is nuts.

You need to check out Bristol.
I went down there for the spring race and it was wicked.
The spring race at Bristolwas the debut of the car of tomorrow and the
last race on the old surface. It was a great time and I highly reccomend it.
I plan on goin down again.

 

My buddy has a motorhome spot at California Speedway that sits about 15 feet from the track at turn 3 so I spend two weekends a year there!!!!

It is most definitely one of the best experiences you can have ;o)

I was up in the tri oval tower for the race.Did you have your scanner? That makes a huge difference, really brings the race to life.

 

Unfortunately no I didn't have a scanner.

 

personally i dont know how you guys can watch a nascar race. i have never been to one so i dont really know. but it just seems like it would be super boring.

 

Used to go to TD every year. If you want the real party stay a night in the infield. I've been to a few parties and the infield is ahuge one. A lot of drinking and a LOT of naked ladies. It's not like it used to be, the cops will run off the ladies that get too wild now. I would never take any female that I know in there. Its pretty much like Marti Gras.Haven't been in 3 years. For sure will try to make it next spring. I was not a big nascar fan untill I went to an actual race. I guess its hard to get a real feel for how fast and how these guys really drive untill you go. TD is also banked at 33 degrees that doesnt sound like much untill you look up at the track from the bottom. If your not going at least 80, you will just slide down.Just like drag racing. Untill you feel that top fueler going through your chest you can never appreciate the power those guys have.

 

Man you are lucky Rooster. I'd LOVE to go to Talladega. I keep threatening to go to either the pocono's or Dover, but I always back out and just watch it on TV. I guess it's because none of my friends are as into it as I am.

mayfair i went to dover last year it is three times better in person!! you gotta get to a race!!

 

Yeah, it's on my list of things to do. Lemme know if you wanna go again sometime. I have friends with houses up the Pokies we could crash out at if we went to the Pocono race.
