Fuel heater.
I have a 2006 5.9 CTD. Does anyone know if I have a fuel heater, how it works and were it is located. I just read someone's thread and it mentioned fuel heaters. This is the first I have heard of them.
to go along with ur thread....i have a 02 5.9 with the plug...if i plug it in at night, and dont have a timer on the plug..so it just charges all night..will that do anything..its getting in the 20s and 30s here in Asheville and was wondering if it will do anything to just plug it in at night and let it go all night long without haveing a timer set to like 2 hours before i leave...will it hurt anything?

I leave mine plugged in all night and never had a problem. I am on call for work so I never know if I have to leave so I can't use a timer, I wish I could. The fuel heater is news to me. I was just wondering if they all have it or is that something aftermarket. If it is in my truck, where is it and how does it work...only when it is plugged in or when it is running?
I have my block heater on a timer that goes on 4 hours before I leave for work.
Assuming the 2006's are the same as my 98, the fuel heater is located in the fuel filter canister.
