Sound like about going rate around my area.

I'm a fan of the Edge juice w/attitude you get gauges, 5 levels of tuning, a cool down timer, and safety features all for about $750.

With that mileage and ageyour probably gonna need a new lift pump ormost will say a FASS before you get too into it. Many will say that the automatic will be you weak link and may need some upgrades as well.

Shop around you'll see some difference in price.
The edge will show your fuel pressure. If it drops down below 5 or so your lift pump is in trouble.
When my buddy installed his Edge in his '01 his fuel pressure was only 1 psi. Hethought it wastheinstalled wrong. He put in a new lift pump and he was up to 15 psi. Caught it just in time.

A lot of guys have them and like them. They also make a digital gauge/control similar to the edge. It doesn't have acool down timer though. But it isa little cheaper.

 

what exactly does the cool down timer do?
