Default How to remove oil from strap whitout messing it all???

Well if u had read the SHAME ON ME topic u know why im asking for this...

My belt is making noise,so much my wife heared it before the truck while i get near the house....
(not that bad but close)

im thinking about putting some varsol on it to degrease it, any idea? i fear the rubber had absorbed the oil
and that ill will need to change the strap...i dont mind much but but this is a pain to do and the strap cost around 60$ if i remember last time i did it (about in march)

Here in the states they sell a belt conditioner/cleaner at the local auto part stores. if not degreaser should be fine.

I'd try Simple Green first. It works great and it's bio-degradable.

I think Mayfair is right. Solvent might damage the belt and cause it to break sooner. I'd try some detergent mixed at a light ratio first.
